I received the test kit Friday and no instructions where included just the testing supplies. i went online to find the instructions and i can only find drinking water not well water instructions.

This is the second time we've used this product and we're still impressed with it's ease, accuracy and price. We have a refurbished well and our local University Extension Office suggested annual testing of the water quality. Watersafe's test kit fits the bill.

Some of my family lives out in the countryside and they have potable water wells. Every 5 years or so I pick up one of these packages and test the water just to make sure that everything's in order. I know that I can always take the water to the county or to the department of agriculture to test but I find that doing this keeps me from having to go pick up bottles and pills from them.
I ordered this from Amazon, comes in the mail, follow the simple instructions and you get your water tested.
PROS
- convenient
- easy to use
- good screen test before spending $300 to get your water tested
CONS
- doesn't test for sulfur
- bacteria test doesn't tell you if it's bad or innocuous bacteria
Overall, it's something good to do every once in a while to make sure everything's ok with your water if you own a well or if you're concerned about your water in any way. If you live in a municipality, it might be overkill but if you live in a very old building, it might make sense to get the kit and test for lead in your water.
It's cheap, simple, peace of mind.
