5 out of 5 stars Do you like Huey Lewis And The News?   August 27, 2008
American Psycho
Their early work was a little too new wave for my tastes, but when Sports came out in '83, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost.

He's been compared to Elvis Costello, but I think Huey has a far much more bitter, cynical sense of humor.

In '87, Huey released "Fore!", their most accomplished album. I think their undisputed masterpiece is "Hip to be Square", a song so catchy, most people probably don't listen to the lyrics. But they should, because it's not just about the pleasures of conformity and the importance of trends, it's also a personal statement about the band itself.

5 out of 5 stars Upbeat, fun music   August 17, 2008
Robert Crow (Woodbridge, VA)
You can't listen to this every day. But every couple of months, it's a nice lift. All their big hits are on this CD. I attended one of their concerts in the D.C. area and every time that I play this, it brings back some good memories.

5 out of 5 stars I OWN EVERY HLN ALBUM and I still bought this   August 5, 2008
Larry Sloan (Kent, WA)
Saying I'm a big HLN fan is an understatement. I have all their albums. What was missing were the single edits of many of my favorites. This album has many of those. I got the version with the music videos too. These guys had some truly great videos and those are included with that version. Many "greatest" CDs are barely OK. This is a GREATEST of greats, from the song selection to the packaging.

4 out of 5 stars Almost, But Not Quite   June 10, 2008
Movie Lover (Hawaii, USA)
Growing up in the 80's I couldn't get enough of Huey and his boys. When it came to rock and roll, they were like the items out of "Goldilocks & The 3 Bears": not too hard, not to soft, but just right. And most of the tracks are among their best, but I do have one complaint: the first two tracks were chopped up, leaving them far different from the ones I grew up on. But aside from that issue, this is a fine addition to any Huey fan's collection.

5 out of 5 stars A fine album   May 27, 2008
J. Brad Yeates (Utah)
This is an excellent album. Every song is a favorite. I can't reccomend this album enough.
