3 out of 5 stars Less Science (Explanations) Than Gore's; Good Summary   February 27, 2010
moderate user (Kentucky)
This DVD has a number of "talking heads" short statements interspersed with lots of good video. It is well organized, (mostly) around possible effects of climate change, followed by some responses, including a rather good section about what Portland, OR has been doing for a number of years to decrease their contribution to climate change. This DVD is good at making the point that many of the things we can do to decrease our carbon dioxide input also will save us money in the long run, but it seems to paint almost too Rosey a picture in that sense--make no mistake, decreasing climate change will be painful in other ways.(editorial comment there). In contrast, Gore's movie has more explanation of why some of the climate change effects may occur. So, if you just want to see what the effects may be, this is a good movie. If you want to see some more evidence of why those effects may occur, Gore's movie is better. For those of you who can't stand Gore--does it really matter WHO is saying it? He is just repeating what scientists tell him, anyway.

This movie goes beyond the normal information about global warming. It helped me understand what global warming really is about and all the areas it touches. Everyone should see this movie.

5 out of 5 stars Better than inconvenient truth   May 22, 2008
Daniel P. Skrzynski (Anchorage, AK)
This video is far better than Al Gore's "inconvenient truth". The video is all science without the "if I had been voted president I could have made a difference".

5 out of 5 stars Very Educational.   March 25, 2007
J. Whittaker (Europe)
This documentary is fast paced and keeps your attention. Everyone should take a look at this- as the results of global warming affect everyone.
